Tioman
Tioman is an island located northeast to Johor, Malaysia. It is a very beautiful island with beautiful underwater creatures to match.
As soon as we arrived in Mersing, we took a ferry heading here. For the first half of our trip we decided to stay in ABC; and for the remaining part, we stayed at Salang. |
The overall diving here is just marvellous. I saw numerous amount nudibranches/sea slugs, they were very beautiful. Apparently we came at the right time, and it was the mating season. We caught a glimpse of many nubranches mating. I snapped a few pictures of them below. We also came across several stingrays. Cuttlefishes were seen in a group of 2 or more. There are also amny many residential turtles, they swim beside you while you were diving. Giving the divers an underwater company. NIght dives in Tioman sland is very different than day dives. Although it is the same divesite, the creatures lurking at tou are completely different; simply magnificent. Early morning dives are THE best dives. It has the best visibility and there aen't many other divers. The fishes have just woken up and are in a good mood to welcome you in to their world. Waking up early is not a problem to see somthing as wonderful as these. Creatures underwater can only be seen from above the water, as strangely as it sounds. During the voyage from Mersing to Salang, it is possible to see dolphins at the coast of Salang. MAny people have waited for dolphin sightings and they are often not disappointed. We, luckily, came across a playful group of dolphins who happily swam towards the island with the boat. Unfortunately, we were unable to capture these moments as it was a little too late.
