The 4th dive of the course is the Navigation Dive. My dad said that when he did his course, he found this dive the hardest. At first I found it really confusing but after a while, I stated to get the hang of it.
Like when we did the PPB dive, we went diving looking for a wide sandy area. Whilst we were doing that, our instructor explained to us to use some natural reference or guide to help navigate our way back to shore. He told us about the patterns on the sand, how it was parallel to the beach. He also told us to look for some corals or anything that wouldn't move very far, to act as a guide as well. In this case we used a bright yellow piece of coral. This distictive colour is very catchy, therefore easy to find.
Anyways, once we found the area; we were separated into our buddy groups. One person is to watch their compass and guide their buddy through a square course, while the other person has to do a kick cycles to see how far they've gone.
